Only a director like Shankar will have the guts to produce a full length feature film, a historical comedy where history and contemporary Indian politics merge. The man who acted in double role was comedian Vadivelu.
The director, S. Simbudevan was an unknown name but Shankar had enough faith in the project to produce it and the result is a massive hit. It is the allegory, the funny situations and humorous dialogues that made the film a success.
