Bhupathi then combined with multiple major champion Martina Hingis to defeat Elena Likhovtseva and Daniel Nestor 6-3, 6-3 in the mixed doubles final at Australian Open in 2006.
It was the third straight mixed doubles title for the Indian and completed his major collection in the category.

It was the first (and also the last) mixed doubles title for the 'Swiss Miss'.
The next few years were disappointing for Bhupathi. Rampant change of partners and a string of poor performances didn't help matters much.
