Shooting success

Anjali Vedpathak-Bhagwat and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore maintained India's glory in shooting. Anjali, ranked No 2 in the world, won the 10 metres Air Rifle World Cup final in Milan. The 34 year old displayed superb form to shut out world No 1 Li Du of China to second place and world No 3 Hiromi Masaki of Japan to third. She also won gold at the World Cup in Fort Benning, USA, and bagged gold and silver at the Afro-Asian Games in Hyderabad.

Double Trap shooter Rajyavardhan booked an Olympic berth and moved up to a career high of world No 4. The 33 year old won a bronze in the New Delhi leg of the World Cup in April. At the Asian Clay Shooting Championships, he upset Asian Games gold medallist Chen Shih Wei of Taiwan to grab the gold.
