September 03, 2008
Wilson noted, "Now with the success of his efforts in addressing Hurricane Gustav, all of us can be proud of the success again of the highest ranking Indian American in the history of our country. So, Bobby Jindal deserves a lot of credit."

Indian Ambassador Ronen Sen, who was also among the guests invited to the event, including several from the American Jewish Committee led by Richard T Foltin, Legislative Director and Counsel at AJC, said, "I would like to say very simply that how proud I am to be with Joe."

"He's so eloquent. It's a hard act to follow. So I'll just say, I agree with him," Sen said.

Congressman Adam Putnam, Florida Republican, also lauded Jindal and said, "He has shown the world how the government can be efficient and responsive and take care of their people with or without Washington."

"It's a sea-change and it shows you the kind of leadership he brought to Louisiana. I am proud to have had the opportunity to have served with him in the House of Representatives," he said.
