He pointed out that in the Silicon Valley, every fourth IT professional was from India and out of them every fourth was from the state of Andhra Pradesh. "That much presence of people from Andhra Pradesh in the US needs the service of a consulate."
Thanking President Bush for fulfilling his promise, the Chief Minister said, "We all are very happy about it. We hope and wish that the relationship between America and India will go up further from strength to strength and with this presence of American consulate here, the presence of American industry and American trade in Andhra Pradesh will also grow by leaps and bounds.'
While Iran was the only country till now to have its consulate in Hyderabad to serve the need of a large Iranian population in the city, after US consulate many more countries will also set up their consular facilities in the city. Russia's consulate is all set to be opened next week while Turkey and Saudi Arabia are also planning to have their facilties in the city.
