Hyderabad's latest attraction is unveiled

November 20, 2008
Though a large part of the complex was destroyed and plundered, the VIIIth Nizam Mir Barkat Ali Khan Mukarram Jah Bahadur decided to preserve and restore the heritage of the Asif Jahi dynasty.

His former wife, London-based Princess Esra, took up the responsibility and hired the services of renowned restoration experts. Mukarram Jah spent close to Rs 10 crore on the restoration work.
