Joy in Srinagar, curfew in Jammu

July 02, 2008
Officials said the Jammu-Srinagar, Jammu-Poonch and Jammu-Pathankot highways were clogged with Kashmiri migrants and activists of right-wing groups squatting at various points.

Demanding removal of Governor N N Vohra for revoking the order, BJP, VHP and Shiv Sena activists fought pitched battles with police at various places.

In Srinagar, meanwhile, people carried torches (Left) to celebrate what they termed was victory in Lal Chowk.
