Joy in Srinagar, curfew in Jammu

However, the government's decision to revoke the plan has angered many in Jammu. The region is witnessing stepped-up violence, forcing authorities to deploy the army in sensitive areas.
Curfew was clamped in Bhaderwah and Samba with the army staging flag marches in the two towns.
Srinagar too had witnessed protests earlier. A few days ago, policemen had clashed with Sikh protestors (Left).
