He added that Obama would "bring a better America here at home and around the world".
He said he was thrilled to participate in the IALI reception at the Convention that would be soon be "this historic affirmation of America’s inclusion of all of our citizens".
The reception was preceded by a press briefing by IALI president Jay Chaudhuri, IALI reception chairs Anurag Varma and Kathy Kulkarni and veteran Indian American Democratic Party stalwart Rajen Anand, who is attending his sixth convention. The briefing discussed the role Indian Americans are playing in growing and strengthening the Democratic Party.
Democratic Party strategist Toby Chaudhuri, who moderated the briefing, said at the outset, "There are more Indian Americans involved in this Democratic Convention than have ever been involved in any political convention in this country".
"It is truly amazing -- Indian Americans are on the march. We are on the rise across the board," he said.
Jay Chaudhuri declared, "We believe that the Indian Americans are the new frontier of the Democratic Party. The Indian American community is a critical part of the changing electorate".
