India's longest balanced cantilever bridge across the Chenab river in Jammu opens for traffic on Friday.

Constructed by the Border Roads Organization, the Chenab Bridge, as it is called, spans the mighty Chenab river connecting the Jammu region of the state with Rajouri and Poonch districts.

"This state-of-the-art bridge located at Akhnoor has been completed in a record time of 22 months," said Uma Shankar Dadu, chief engineer BRO Jammu.
