Putana

A heavenly prediction forewarned King Kansa of Mathura that the eighth child born to his sister Devaki would kill him. He then has all of Devaki's newborns killed, but the eighth child, Krishna, manages to escape in the dead of night. When he comes to know that Krishna is well and growing up in ----, Kansa sent one of his trusted aides Putana, a demoness, to kill the child.
Since she did not know which child was Devaki's, she began killing all the newborn babies in town by applying poison to her breasts and suckling them.
Finally she did come across Devaki's eighth child. But when Putana put the child to her breasts, Lord Krishna sucked the life out of her.
