Ramayan rules at Central Park
June 26, 2007
Anita Ratnam, a danseuse, choreographer and scholar of 30 years standing and an international reputation, was one of 20 storytellers, musicians and other performing artists from the United States and elsewhere, brought together by author and storyteller Diane Wolkstein to share stories from the Native American, European, African and Asian traditions.
The venue was New York's famed Central Park where on a bright, sunny day this weekend Ratnam enthralled scores of children who, parents in tow, came for a day of immersion in the magical stories of faraway lands.
