A little distance from the railway station, many fruit carts can be seen. Mobeen is selling grapes on one such cart.
A resident of Moradabad, Mobeen has 6 children -- one son and five daughters. His son is in Mumbai, where he has a juice stall in partnership with another boy from the state. Two of his girls are married. Of the other three at home, one is illiterate, one has studied up to Class 3 and the third up to Class 5.
"Education is very expensive. So I did not educate them," he says with regret.
Mobeen, who earns about Rs 80 on an average a day, says, "In the last election, I voted for the Samajwadi Party. I felt the majority was voting for them. I did not want to waste my vote. So I voted for them. It is important for me to know the candidate. In this election, I know the SP candidate and Ajit Singh's candidate. I will vote for one of them."
