Sharon's last battle

Ariel Sharon, 77, is battling for life at Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital after two consecutive strokes, with doctors describing his condition 'grave'.

Always known as a warrior, the Israeli prime minister had laughed off his first stroke on December 18, but was brought down on January 4 by the second one, which led to extensive surgery for bleeding in the brain.
