The India-Pakistan joint statement released at the end of the meeting spoke of the leaders reviewing progress in their relations since they last met in New Delhi. They reiterated their pledge not to allow terrorism to impede the peace process, while agreeing to expedite the implementation of earlier decisions.

Dr Singh and President Musharraf also welcomed progress made 'within the framework of the Composite Dialogue', and both welcomed the recent release of prisoners on both sides.
