There are five handis in this area. Though the prize money is modest -- between Rs 5,001 to Rs 11,001 -- there is a lot of prestige involved and the best groups come here. It is also very apolitical here, as only the local associations are involved.

Seven years back it was here that the first all-girls group started breaking handis. The organisers have special prizes for girls.
