Miniature silver cradles, decorated with fresh jasmine flowers, carrying idols of Lord Krishna, are taken out in processions.

In various homes across Maharashtra, the traditional Gopal kala, a mixture of yoghurt, beaten rice and jaggery, is offered to idols of Lord Krishna.

The first prize in this area is a whopping 500,000. But there is a catch: the handi must be broken using a 10-block pyramid! And to top it all, the handi is at a height of around 50 feet. The handi is dangling just outside the railway station.

The organiser, Shiv Sena's Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Nirupam, knows how difficult the task is. Last year, he had offered Rs 100,000.

Nirupam is ready to reduce the height, but the cash prize will also be reduced: 300,000 in case of a nine-block pyramid and 250,000 in case of seven.
