Honouring the Achievers

< Back   Next >

For thousands of Indian students who go to US every year to do their graduate studies, Professor Dipak Jain is a familiar name. Prof Jain is the dean of one of the best business schools in the world, the Kellogg School of Management at the North Western University.

Prof Jain is also the youngest and the first person of Indian origin to become the dean of Kellogg. Born in a family of teachers in Assam, Prof Jain studied business management in the Stockholm School of Economics and University of Texas.

Last year, Prof Jain had come to the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas as a speaker. He was overwhelmed to be one of the 12 people of Indian origin to be honoured this year.

As soon as he got to the podium to receive his award he touched the feet of Prime Minister Vajpayee. His gesture received a loud applause from the audience.
