Ronen Sen, the newly appointed Indian ambassador to the United States, was a surprise guest at the event. He was accompanied by Consul General in New York Pramathesh Rath and Consul General in Houston Skand Tayal.

Since envoys are not known to take sides during elections, Sen stuck to lauding the Indian-American community's achievements and contribution to America.
