That's where the blast occurred," points Chandrakant Pandey towards a puddle behind bamboo barricades.

A taxi driver from Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh, Pandey's cab is parked just a few yards away from the spot, where the taxi-bomb exploded on August 25.

Pandey says he knew the relatives of Umresh Upadhyay whose taxi was used to lodge the bomb. Upadhyay died in the explosion. "He was very young, in his mid 20s and had a small child."

Taxis are parked alongside the barricade -- and double parking is now prohibited in Zaveri Bazar. Traders say that the doing away of double parking has come as a boon and eased traffic flow.

The local jewellers association contributed Rs 20,000 to set up no parking signs in the area, which was put up within four days.

Although cabbies are more more careful about the luggage that passengers carry, Pandey says their business is about trust.

"We have to trust our passengers and what is there about life?" he asks, "Who can say what will happen tomorrow."
