Sister Nirmala, her successor, at one of the orphanages in Kolkata.

In an interview to rediff.com, Sister Nirmala said, "We have to continue in the footsteps of Mother. The world should pray that we can work faithfully to the cause of our Mother and the people."

People associated with Mother Teresa say that she has groomed well her successor and the senior consuls of the order.

Sister Marjorie, head of Kolkata's Sishu Bhavan orphanage, says, "Mother Teresa showed us the way and taught us to serve the poorest of the poor, the crippled and the infirm, the ailing and the dying."

Her words: "God will find another person, more humble, more devoted, more obedient to him, and the society will go on." -- Calcutta 1989, after announcing her intention to retire.
