The final act of the Ramlila, of setting alight the effigies of the evil rakshasas Ravan, Kumbhakarn and Meghnad, has a lesson for the audiences. It is an exhortation to them to destroy the evil within themselves and follow the path of virtue, remembering the instance of Ravan, who despite all his might and majesty, was destroyed for his evil ways.
