You've done a film with Priyadarshan.
Yes, a Malayalam film called Wattam. I play the lead character. Priyadarshan first asked me to do an item number for Kyon Ki with Salman Khan. After that, he offered me Wattam.
You have done item numbers with Mika and Arjun Rampal for Deepak Tijori's Fox, and Himesh in Love Ishtory.
Yes. But the Fox number may get chopped off because it doesn't go well with the film. As it is, people criticise Deepak's films. Arjun wasn't happy about the item number.
Do item numbers give more visibility?
I don't recommend them to anyone. I don't want to do any more item numbers unless it is with Shah Rukh Khan [laughs]. The industry has changed and they do not typecast you now. Even the audience has a short memory. People can't differentiate me from the films I have done.
What next?
I have Satak Das Gupta's Road Trip. I play a character with grey shades. People will not know what my character is up to until the end. Then there is Park Street Avenue, where I play a very sweet but ambitious girl, who leaves her boyfriend after he goes bankrupt.
