The Kingfisher Calendar crew suggested that I join acting. I have always been interested in acting; dance and drama have always fascinated me. So I decided to get some training.

Theatre was the only place I could think of because it keeps you grounded. And it taught me everything. I learnt a lot from Nadira Babbar. I plan to join the New York School of Drama to better myself. This way, I can choose films rather than films choosing me.

Hasn't the Kingfisher Calendar got you some glamourous movies roles?

I don't want to be just a glam doll. I want to do off-beat cinema with meaningful roles. I want my role to contribute to the film.

So you think theatre, and not skin show, will get you places in Bollywood?

Skin show matters, but it will not take you far. Everybody knows I look good and that I have a hot body. What next? I want people to know that I can act as well. I have done enough bikini shots and skin show. I quit modelling because I got bored of it. I walk the ramps for friends once in a while but I'm concentrating on acting.
