Ever since the conclusion of the three-day Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Kannada film industry, Jayamala has been on the line of fire from almost the entire Kannada film industry for her inept handling of the event.

Veteran producer and actor Dwarakish, directors S Narayan and D Rajendra Babu and many other senior artists boycotted the celebrations. Dwarakish refused to attend the seminar organised by the Kannada film producers wing on the third day as he was denied entry on the first day.
