Tanay's obviously been very lucky where his films were concerned. After Shah Rukh, he got a chance to work with Aamir Khan.
"Taare Zameen Par was a brilliant script. Aamir was a really good director," he says. "He wanted to do everything on the sets -- whether it was shifting a desk or anything at all. He would not ask the spotboy. He has a lot of energy, I wonder where it comes from. He barely slept. He would shoot one scene from 20 different angles. That's why the film is such a big hit."
Tanay has always enjoyed his time on the film sets, especially TZP and Slumdog because there were a lot of children to play with. "My school mates were part of both films. Sachet Engineer, the boy who plays Darsheel's brother in TZP, is from my school. Ashutosh Lobo Gajiwala (who plays Salim in Slumdog) is also from my school. In TZP, as soon as the shot was over, we would rush to play cricket and football. We had a blast. We had a cricket match with all the cast and crew, in which Aamir also played."
