'People like the scene where I shoot Maman'

It was great working with the best director in the world! Danny Boyle really takes interest in his cast and crew. He takes care of everyone, and gives everyone due credit. He does not care about your status, who you are and where you come from...

[Sound technician] Resul Pookutty has done many films but he wasn't given that much recognition. Danny mentioned him in his interviews so that he got due credit.

His style of working is different. He does not stick to the script. He is open to improvisation. He does not teach acting but gives you a free hand, as long as you are in character. He always looks into the details of the scene, and character.

People like the scenes where I shoot Maman, and later when I take Latika into a hotel room and push Jamal out. The scene where I shoot Maman was fun because I got to hold a revolver for the first time, and point it at someone! Of course, it was a fake gun. Many of my friends told me that I acted brilliantly, and that my facial expressions were good.
