What the top actresses are doing this recession

Bollywood seems to have taken a bad hit. Not only have producers gone on an indefinite strike against multiplexes but the ongoing recession seems to have stopped new movies from going on the floors. So actors, these days, are simply completing their projects or reading up new scripts. But shooting for new films has apparently not started.

In this two-part series, we take a look at the films top Bollywood heroines are working on these days.

Kareena Kapoor

Kareena has quite a few films in her kitty -- as many six, at the last count.

Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambakkht Ishq is all set for release in August. Directed by Sabbir Khan, the film also stars Akshay Kumar, Aftab Shivdasani, Amrita Arora, Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh. It's said to be a remake of the Tamil film, Pammal K Sambandam.

Main Aur Mrs Khanna -- directed by another newcomer Prem Soni -- also stars Salman Khan. Kareena and Salman play a happily married couple, until one decision makes them part ways. Main Aur Mrs Khanna is completed, and set to release in July.

Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots also stars Aamir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani. Loosely adapted on Chetan Bhagat's Five Point Someone, the film is currently still filming.

Renzil D'Silva's film, tentitively titled Jihad, also stars Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Minissha Lamba, Kirron Kher and Om Puri. Saif and Kareena play terrorists, who fall in love with each other. A Dharma production, the shooting for this is still on.

Agent Vinod stars Saif once again. The film is also being produced by the actor. It will be directed by Sreeram Raghavan. Apparently, Saif plays a secret agent in the film, made on the lines of James Bond. The shooting for this is currently on.

Satish Kaushik's Milenge Milenge, starring Kareena's former love Shahid Kapur, is a long-pending film that was completed way back in 2005. It still awaits a release date.

According to rumours, Kareena is also doing Sudhir Mishra's next called Dhruv, along with Chitrangada Singh and Farhan Akhtar. Kareena plays a simple-looking politician whereas Chitrangada has a more glamorous role. The shooting for this is expected to start in September.
