'It's a great feeling to be directed by Mani Ratnam'

You have two films releasing for Onam, Thalappavu and Thirakkadha...

The two films are close to my heart and I have really different roles in them. In Thirakkadha, my role is that of a film director called Akbar Ahmed. For him, cinema is a passion. It's also about a romantic tale between a superstar and a former star, who has faded into oblivion now.

Thalappavu is the picture of a naxalite leader from the perspectives of certain others. I am quite excited about the two roles.

You should be really excited about the film with Mani Ratnam?

Of course, it's a huge film. But I can't divulge much details about the film or its subject. We had three meetings and I am aware of the subject in detail. It's always a great feeling to be directed by Mani Ratnam and I am looking forward to the film.
