A remake of the Telugu hit Nuvvostanante Nennodantana, starring Siddharth and Trisha and directed by Prabhudeva, Something Something Unakkum Enakkum (Something between You and Me) had a lot riding on it.

Its hero Jeyam Ravi had just delivered a few flops, and heroine Trisha's position was threatened seriously by Asin and Nayanthara.

However, the original, which was a simplistic heart-warming tale of romance, comedy and sentiment, struck a chord with the audience. Somehow the roles done by Siddharth in Telugu seemed to be working for Jeyam Ravi.
