Shah Rukh Khan plays Rahul, who is obsessively in love with Kiran (Juhi Chawla) through she is engaged to someone else (Sunny Deol).
As the young couple celebrate Holi, Rahul bathes himself in colour and worms his way to their party. He takes a chance and throws colour at Kiran, showing how he wants to be with her at every moment.
Holi, in Darr, was obviously not just a joyful celebration of colours. It showed obsessiveness, and how the colour red can take on different meanings.
