The clash of the titans!

Remember those aspiring singers you loved, cheered, and even shed tears for, and who went on to win their respective titles?

Well, it's time for a repeat, as the countdown for the title starts in Star Plus' Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star, hosted by Mandira Bedi. The show is judged by filmmaker Farah Khan and musicians Vishal-Shekhar.

Let's take a closer look at the eight finalists.

Abhijeet Sawant

The first ever Indian Idol, Abhijeet's was a rags to riches story. His first album, Mohabatein Lutaunga, was a hit too.

"I wanted to show my fans how much I have matured as a singer in the last three years," Abhijeet explains, when asked what made him take up the show. "I love to experiment and I get bored easily."

Besides singing on the show, Abhijeet will also produce a Marathi film. "I can't disclose my production house's name as it still has to be registered. The paperwork is on. We have already zeroed in on the cast," he says.

Abhijeet will also make his acting debut in a film called Lottery. Co-starring television actress Rucha Gujrati, the film will release after Diwali this year.

His favourites in Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star: Rahul Vaidya, Debojit Saha and me. If not me, then Vineet Singh.
