The all-star American mafia

The Made Man

Tommy DeVito
(Joe Pesci from Goodfellas)

A Made Man becomes thus after a religious ceremony common to most of the Cosa Nostra families, giving him power and making him a protected and valued Family man. In the old days, you could rise to the exalted status without having committed murder, but after the Donnie Brasco trials where undercover cops started posing as mafioso, it became necessary to kill, to 'make your bones' before you got Made.

Not that Tommy DeVito would have a problem with that. An easily provoked man with a rapidly-profane tongue, Tommy might be short but packs a helluva punch. And it's best to have him on your side, though you'd be well advised to laugh at his jokes with some discretion. Always ready to do the dirty work, Tommy's deceptively violent and capable of serious mayhem. Ask him to bury a fresh corpse and his query is unerringly to the point: 'Where are the shovels?'
