He's 61, and all set to hit the theatres again this Friday as John Rambo in the unambiguously titled Rambo. Well, they could have called it Fourth Blood, but hey.
Sylvester Stallone has had a long and intriguing career as an action hero and has shown increasing sensitivity as a director. But we still remember the bazookas better. Well, at least till he finishes work on Poe, his Edgar Allan Poe biopic.
For now, here's a look at Sly's best. From good films to guilty pleasures to sheer grenade-play, here's the top ten:
10. Tango & Cash
Sly is Ray Tango, a cop soaked in coolth. Kurt Russell is Gabriel Cash, a grungier police officer. Both are narcotics cops who find themselves framed for murder by a drug kingpin they've both been gunning for. It's a cheesy film with much to groan at, but it is important to remember that this unlikely-buddy movie well predates the Rush Hour genre. And Sly and Kurt manage some pretty darned fun chemistry.
