Plot: In Beirut, five women meet regularly in a beauty salon, a highly colourful microcosm where several generations cross each other, talk and confide.
Layale is the mistress of a married man and she still hopes he might leave his wife. Nisrine is a Muslim and will soon have a traditional Muslim wedding. But she's no longer a virgin. Rima is tormented by her attraction to women, especially to one of the parlour's clients who comes to have her hair done. Jamale refuses to grow old. Rose has sacrificed her life to take care of her elderly sister.
In the salon, their intimate and liberated conversations revolve around men, sex and motherhood -- between haircuts and sugar waxing with caramel.
