Performances to remember, 2007

Jameel Khan in Loins Of Punjab Presents

Manish Acharya's Loins boasts of a top-notch ensemble cast, but Khan must be singled out for providing the most consistent guffaws with his character, the sleazy event promoter Mr Bokade.

In a particularly delightful scene, He hits on a female judge by knocking on her hotel room door late at night, armed with a couple of brandy snifters and a bottle of Scotch. And that isn't all, from the garishly dressed gent. As the lady in question declines, he balances liquor and glassware in hands and hits an accompanying two-in-one kept by his feet. The Gypsy Kings come to life -- for they are the band Bokade thinks makes women slaves. Khan is audacious, loud, obnoxious but a full-on hoot.
