Why was Mahesh Manjrekar chosen to play the villain?
Two-three years ago Mahesh Manjrekar, Sanjay Dutt and I wanted to make a film together. At that point of time, I used to watch Mahesh a lot. I liked his mannerisms and expressions. Whenever there was an occasion to be celebrated, there used to be a serious grin on his face.
I found that to be extremely peculiar and I liked it so much that I thought someday I would like to use that in my characterisation. When I started writing, I actually realised why not use the original from where I picked it. He liked the script and did the role.
The movie has a slick look from whatever one saw in the trailers shown at the audio release function...
I don't know. It's a difficult question to answer. I shot whatever I could. If the film has shaped up well then it's great.
Homam has been in the making for quite some time...
It's been so for umpteen reasons. One of them being Jagapathi is doing four films in one go. So I had to wait for his other releases to happen. Kathanayakudu had to be released first because it is a big film.
