Despite many cynics expecting it to be a failure and some who do not like the Bachchans hoping it would crash, by the look of the Atlantic City performance, the show is a milestone of a success.
And while Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Madhuri Dixit and Riteish Deshmukh brought their glamour and talent to it, there was no doubt it was an out and out Amitabh event.
Over 12,000 spectators -- many who had driven over 250 miles from Jersey City and had stayed in hotels after the three-and-a-half hour show got over at about 1.30 am -- applauded lustily for Amitabh, repeatedly.
Some, who had paid $1,000 a ticket and were close to the stage, carried their little children on their heads, with one father telling his five-year old son: "You are seeing the greatest actor in the world."
