Chetan has been in Mumbai for a long time. He learnt about the show through Sudesh Bhosle -- the duo worked together in orchestras.

An bank employee for 20 years by day and orchestra singer by night, Chetan soon got so many singing assignments that he quit his job.

As a child, Chetan couldn't take up singing as his father passed away when Chetan was very young. When he announced his decision to take part in K For Kishore, his mother was upset. But things soon worked out.

When Chetan joined the contest, his only problem was that he sang Kisore Kumar's songs in his style, which the judges disliked. Help came in the form of voice engineer Ananth Vaidyanath, who taught him how to project his voice.

Chetan says he has learnt a lot from the show.
