She is the first female action hero and was nominated for Best Actress Academy Award for portraying Ripley in the blockbuster Aliens movie franchise.

She portrayed the role of Ripley perfectly, balancing the tender and nurturing part with that of a tough and aggressive one with aplomb.

Her first appearance as Ripley was in Ridley Scott's 1979 film Alien and went on to reprise the role in two sequels, Aliens and Alien 3.

She also played Ripley 8 (a clone of the original Ripley) in Alien: Resurrection.
