You had told me when we first met that you had no plans to be an actor. Now, being a part of quite a few good films, are you discovering yourself as an actor?
I wouldn't say I am discovering myself as an actor. I am trying to unleash a lot of things that are remaining dormant inside me.
Today, when people appreciate my acting, I feel happy. They don't talk about my dance or fights; they only talk about how I have performed in a film.
As the bhang smoking and dancing Prabhakar among the sadhus, you were without any inhibition. How did you manage to do that?
We shot those scenes in Kadapa with real sadhus. They were all the time smoking and living in a different world. One whole day, I observed how they spoke, danced and smoked. Then, I tried to be like them though I didn't go into such 'trips'!
Which part of Prabhakar's life did you shoot first?
The parts where I had a small beard. I was the school teacher then. I had to lose 10-12 kilos to play Prabhakar. Then, we did the big beard portions, and it was only last that we did the teenager part.
