Unlike other actors of your age, you have been doing different kinds of roles, and not sticking to the stereotypical roles. Was it a conscious move on your part after Raam?
When you search for something to read, you try to read the very best. I try to select the interesting stories that come my way. After doing films like Raam, E, etc, filmmakers got the feeling that I am open to different kind of roles. So, when they approach me with such roles, I grab them.
I would say I am being realistic in films, and not different. I look at films as an opportunity to express myself, and I choose realistic and natural films for that.
When you started out, did you expect to be getting such performance-oriented films?
Seriously, I did not. I feel I am plain lucky to have got such variety. Filmmakers believe that I don't have any image, so I can be fit into any role. I am looked at as an actor without any image which is a great advantage for me.
