Sridevi did a lot of films as Rajnikanth's heroine. Starting with Moonru Mudichu and Bharathiraja's superhit 16 Vayathinile during Rajni's anti-hero phase, they later became a hit romantic pair in Rajni's hero-oriented films like Dharmayudhdham, Adutha Varisu and Johnny.

Rajnikanth enjoyed an excellent camaraderie with his heroines and on many occasions, they became the butt of his practical jokes. There was a time when he chased Sridevi and Radhika on the sets of a film with a snake in his hand! Both actresses locked themselves up in a room and Sridevi was almost in tears.
