Discovering Rajasthan, Bollywood-eshtyle

Lamhe

Cast: Anil Kapoor, Sridevi

Predominantly set in the United Kingdom, Lamhe keeps coming going back to the land of peacocks and bandhej.

Yash Chopra's unconventional love triangle between a man (Anil Kapoor), a memory (Sridevi, the mother) and a girl half his age (Sridevi, the daughter) was a critical acclaimed success as well as a box office hit.

The director's penchant for enchanting visuals is apparent in Lamhe where he has successfully captured a whole lot of Rajasthan, both the etiquette and the scenery. Picture a lithe Sridevi clad in delicately embroidered gota patti lehengas dancing against vast expanses of sand in blistering sunlight and then soothing moonlit night, and you will see why the film did so well. Another delightful sight is the scene where a bashful Anil makes his first unsuccessful attempt at climbing a camel's back.
