'I try to deal with personal problems privately'

Aamir says it is natural for him to get obsessed with every project he takes up.

"That is why I do so few films," he says.

How does he maintain his equilibrium when his private life suddenly makes news, like the time his father, filmmaker Tahir Hussain and younger brother, Faisal, lashed out at him?

"I am intensely careful about not bringing anything about my family or private life into the public arena," he says with a deep sigh. "But at times, the media attention becomes so intense that I have to say a few things. But even those comments I keep to a minimum."

But he also makes sure, he says, that nothing that happens to him in his personal life affects his films.

"We are dealing with films in which a lot of investment is made, and hundreds of lives are dependent on these films," he says.

"One person's personal problems cannot affect the progress of a film."
