Continuing with the trend of remakes, another one, Manmatha is all set to hit the theatres in Karnataka this week.
The original in Malayalam titled Kunjikoonan was a huge hit. It starred Dileep, who acted as the hunchback, and Navya Nair. Its success spawned a Tamil remake, Perazhagan, starring Surya and Jyothika.
Now, in this Kannada version, Jaggesh, who started his career as a villian's sidekick, will essay the role of the hunchback.
The actor, who has acted in more than a hundred films, turned hero in his own production Bhanda Nanna Ganda. It was big hit.
Manmatha will be director Rajesh Fernandex's debut in Kannada films.
