Sakshi Shivanand: Rising Star Down South
Despite acting with a top star like Chiranjeevi in your first Telugu film, your career did not take off in Telugu. Is it because you had concentrated in glamorous roles?
I don’t think my career in Telugu films was all that bad. I have done about 18 Telugu films so far which is a good record for any multilingual actress. After the success of Master in which I played the role of the student of Chiranjeevi sir, who was playing the title role, I did get some good roles like in Krishnavamshi’s Samudram.
You have also acted in Tamil and Malayalam films.
I took up Tamil and Malayalam films when I had spare time. But the quality of roles that I performed in Tamil and Malayalam films were really good. I could not take up some very good offers in Tamil because I was busy.
What are your other projects?
My Hindi film with Govinda is complete. It is titled Jahan Jaayega, Hamen Paayega. The film is directed by Janmendra Ahuja. It is a family entertainer with lots of comedy. It was a great experience working with Govinda who is a very good dancer. He keeps everyone in splits. I am also doing another Telugu film with Srikanth.
