The 40th anniversary of the last Beatles gig
On August 29, 1966, The Beatles bid farewell to life on the road. They never played a live concert again.
There were rumours of a possible split, but the four young lads from Liverpool simply wanted to concentrate on creating music in the studio. They were done with the mayhem that seemed to accompany all their live performances.
The show at San Francisco's Candlestick Park was their last.
