*Guest caller composer Shantanu Moitra calls*
Manish: Shantanu Moitra has composed wonderful songs for Lage Raho Munnabhai, Parineeta, Yahan, Hazaron Khwaishen Aisi and Leela.
Shantanu: Hello Rekha, I just wanted to tell you that apart from being a wonderful singer you are also very rooted. A lot of singers complain about having problems, etc. But even though you are the wife of a very well known director, you have a family, you are a mother, you are very professional and always ready with your riyaaz and all. Many singers have a lot to learn from you.
Rekha: Thank you so much, Shantanu. I do complain at times but this is something I cannot live without. I sing for myself.
*Guest call ends*
Sunidhi: Tell us, how did you meet Vishalji?
Rekha: We were in college together, he was my junior. I used to really pull his leg. I was quite well known in college because of my stage shows. Actually I was quite a star, a singing star! Vishal and I became friends. We even cut an album with another friend of ours when we were in college.
Sunidhi: Wow, that is wonderful! Rekhaji, I wanted to tell you this, when the music of Omkara released, I had it in my car for two whole months and would listen to your song everyday.
Rekha: Yes, true. My father used to take us to classical music concerts in Delhi when we were kids. So I have been greatly influenced by singing greats like Kumar Gandharva, Pandit Rasiklal Andharia and Jitendra Abhishek. I thank my father for those influences. Also I am very lucky to have Pandit Amarnathji, a disciple of Ustad Amir Khan, as my guruji who taught with a lot of patience.
