'I'm not going through a low career phase'

Pyare Mohan is a vibrant, fun film. People associate films on handicapped people to be complex. But this is a celebration, not an authentic docu-drama depiction of blind and deaf people. It's not about despair. These guys are always happy, and looking for love. The film is about what happens when they find it.

My character, Mohan, is a big child. He's very emotional, always confused and very loud because he can't hear. He's balanced by Pyare (Fardeen Khan) who's blind, but very mature, and tries to take care of situations. Mohan lip-reads. But he sometimes does it wrongly, causing the two to fall into deeper trouble.

Indu (director Indra Kumar) conducted a workshop for us before the shoot began. We had one during Masti as well. This is important because a certain amount of bonding is required. I didn't know Fardeen before we did the film. We became friends from day one. He's great to party with. We shot for 45 days, and the shoot was divided into two sets of partying -- during and after the shoot. Fardeen can write a book on partying!"
